In-Cabinet Fire Suppression System

As SF Fire & Ventilation Systems, we provide specialized panel fire suppression systems designed for applications where full total flooding protection cannot be applied, but the protected space can be considered a self-contained or enclosed volume.

These systems are engineered to protect high-value equipment, electrical panels, machines, and sensitive devices, ensuring minimal damage during a fire event and enabling rapid return to operation immediately after suppression.

Purpose of Panel Fire Suppression Systems

Panel fire suppression systems are used in:

  • Electrical and control panels
  • Machine enclosures
  • Storage compartments
  • Sensitive electronic devices
  • Industrial equipment housings

They are ideal for protecting critical and high-cost assets where operational continuity is essential.

Extinguishing Agents Used

Depending on the application and fire risk type, panel suppression systems may use:

  • FM-200 (HFC 227ea)
  • Novec 1230 (FK-5-1-12)
  • Carbon Dioxide (CO₂)
  • Foam systems
  • Dry chemical powders (ABC, BC, D types)

System Advantages

  • No external power supply required
  • Not affected by power failures
  • Fully self-contained system
  • No need for expensive fire alarm or control panels
  • Simple and compact design
  • Easy installation and low maintenance
  • Flexible detection tube minimizes false discharge risks
  • Effective protection in hard-to-reach areas

System Types

Direct Systems:
The heat-sensitive detection tube acts as both the detection and discharge line. When heat is detected, the extinguishing agent is directly released into the enclosure.

Indirect Systems:
The heat-sensitive tube is used only for detection. The extinguishing agent is discharged through pipes and nozzles for controlled distribution.

Application Areas

Panel fire suppression systems are widely used in industrial and critical applications such as:

  • CNC and PNC machines
  • Closed milling machines
  • Robotic welding systems
  • Plastic injection molding machines
  • Electrical control cabinets
  • Power distribution panels
  • Computer and server enclosures
  • Transformer cabinets
  • Generator enclosures
  • Automation and control panels
  • Critical data storage cabinets
  • UPS systems
  • Wind turbine control systems
  • Medical equipment
  • Industrial machinery
  • Forklift electrical systems
  • Mining equipment
  • Agricultural machinery and engines
  • Paper and pulp processing machines
  • R&D, chemical, and pharmaceutical laboratories
  • University and school laboratories
  • Public transport vehicles and special-purpose vehicles

At SF Fire & Ventilation Systems, we design and implement engineered panel fire suppression solutions that ensure maximum protection, rapid response, and uninterrupted operation for critical equipment and systems.
