Dry Alarm Valve

SF Fire & Ventilation Systems provides dry pipe sprinkler systems, designed as reliable fire protection solutions for environments where there is a risk of freezing temperatures.

In these systems, the piping up to the valve inlet is kept filled with water, while the sprinkler network is pressurized with air or nitrogen gas to maintain the system in a closed state.

When a fire occurs, the heat activates the sprinkler head, causing a drop in system pressure. This pressure loss triggers the dry alarm valve, which opens automatically and allows water to fill the piping system. Once the system is filled, water is discharged through the open sprinkler heads, reaching the fire-affected area and initiating suppression.

Dry pipe sprinkler systems are ideal for cold environments where wet pipe systems cannot be used. However, the area where the dry alarm valve and control equipment are installed must be maintained above 4°C.

Unlike wet pipe systems where water is constantly present in the piping, dry systems operate on the principle of replacing air or nitrogen with water only when a fire occurs. To reduce water delivery time, accelerators are often used in the system.

The design of the dry alarm valve is based on the internal volume of the piping network, and system capacity is calculated in accordance with engineering principles.
