Ex-Proof Gas Detectors

Gas detection and alarm systems are used in areas where there is a risk of combustion, flash fire, or explosion, as well as in environments where toxic gas levels must be continuously monitored. Gas detectors monitor the concentration of gases in the ambient air and identify low-risk, hazardous, and highly dangerous levels, triggering alarms accordingly. Systems are available with dry contact relay outputs and gas control panel integration options.

Control scenarios are defined according to the type, concentration, and application area of the gas. Accordingly, gas entry into the environment can be prevented, ventilation fans can be activated to reduce or fully remove gas concentration, and valves can be closed when necessary. Audible and visual alarms are activated to notify the environment and responsible personnel. In addressable systems, notifications can also be sent to authorized persons and institutions.

Different detectors are used depending on the application and gas type. For example, in parking areas CO, LPG, or methane detectors are used; in boiler rooms CO or natural gas detectors depending on fuel type; in restaurants LPG or natural gas detectors; and in battery charging rooms hydrogen gas detectors are commonly used.
